THE ELTERMERE

The Eltermere is a very special hotel which lies nestled in the beautiful Langdale Valley in the stunning village of Elterwater. The hotel is surrounded by the majestic Langdale Pikes and has uninterrupted views over the lake at Eltermere. It has had a long history with the original part of the Eltermere starting life as a farmhouse with a collection of barns dating back to the late 14th Century. In 1756, William Robinson remodelled the property into a more refined country residence which created its present gentrified look without loosing any of the original character. It remained a private home until the 1950's when it was turned into a country house hotel.
