The Kilim Cushion is a beautiful design inspired by Marie’s love of Middle Eastern carpets and Kilims. It has also been the project for two successful weekend workshops at Farfield Mill in October and December 2023.
The Kilim Cushion is knitted flat, starting with the centre square and then all other sections are worked off each other in a ‘log cabin’ effect. The kit includes 18 x 25g balls of Marie Wallin British Breeds yarn and the detailed high quality printed pattern – all presented in a lovely Marie Wallin calico kit bag.
The price includes two extra balls of yarn – an extra ball of Silver Birch and Eau de Nil so that TWO cushion fronts can be knitted from the kit. The choice is yours if you make one complete cushion with the Kilim pattern front and back or two cushions which are backed with a fabric of your choice - Marie prefers to back her cushions with tweed!
Included in the price is a downloadable PDF version of the pattern, so that you can enlarge the charts without having to spoil the printed pattern. The download link is sent by email once your order has been shipped.
The completed cushion cover measures 49cm x 49 cm (19.5 ins), making a complete cushion when using a 51cm x 51cm (20 ins) cushion pad.
